The salmon is a remarkable animal that is great navigator as well. The fish travels a great distance from where is born and back again against the strong currents. The salmon hatch and travel down stream to the ocean were they grow up to 4 feet long. When it is egg laying season the fish swim upstream fighting the rapids and jumping over waterfalls up to 15 feet tall. They do not stop to eat during this journey. The fish manages to find the exact stream they were born on. They have a great sense of smell. The lay eggs in the stream bed where some die due to exhaustion, other return to the ocean.
