Chicken and bird eggs do not grow but snakes eggs grow along with the baby snake inside. Snake eggs are soft and leathery allowing it to stretch. Some snake eggs are 1/3 bigger by the time they hatch. Snakes develop a tooth on their upper jaw that allows them to break out of their egg allowing them to slither out. The tooth later falls off. Snake eggs are less fragile than bird eggs as well.
