One part of our pets we often neglect are their paws. Here are the steps you need to keep your pets paws healthy.
- First you need to get some supplies - shampoo, nail clippers, styptic powders, antibacterial soap, and tweezers
- Start by trimming your pets nails. A dremmel tool is a great way to trim them with less risk of injuring the pet.
- Check between their tows for stickers, thorns, foxtails, etc. They can be deeply embedded in your pets foot.
- Remove any irritants with tweezers.
- Check the paw pads for any cuts. Small cuts can be cared for with antibacterial soup, similar to how you would deal with a small cut. A large cut or a cut that is bleeding excessively should be taken seriously and you should contact your vet immediately.
