How to Avoid Breaking Your Diet

dietingWhen on a diet it is hard to stop eating. Snacks can break down any diet. Here are some tips on how to keep from snacking.

  • Stay busy. Exercise and other activities can help keep your off eating. Find activities that require your full attention like washing the car, cleaning the house, etc.
  • Get plenty of exercise. When you feel good after a workout you will be less interested in eating bad foods. Try to work out 5 days a week.
  • Brush your teeth regularly. Most people do not like to eat right after they brush their teeth. Chewing minty gum helps too.
  • Join a support group. These groups are full of people just like you and they are a great way to find solutions to snacking and keep you on the right track. Livestrong.com and weightwatchers.com are great groups.
  • Get plenty of water. You should be drinking 8 glasses a day. Try to brink a glass 20 minutes before every meal to keep you full when you are eating.
  • Don’t weight yourself too option. Weighing yourself daily can put you on an emotional roller coaster as your weight adjusts.
  • Remember your goals and put them on the fridge. When you see your goals you will remember why you should not have that snack.
