The car weighed 12,000 pounds (twice the weight of a regular limo). The car had special wheels and tires to allow it to drive at 50 miles an hour even if all four wheel had been blown out. The wheels were covered in rubber. The car cost 500,000 to produce but the US government rented it from the Ford Motor Company for 5 thousand per year.
