How to Buy a Used Car from a Rental Car Company?

Posted on 27 March 2009 by admin

used car loanBuying a used car can be scary because you may not now much about the cars past and how well the car has been cared for. One way you can feel safer is by looking into a rental car, they has exceptional maintenance records. The companies are required to preform frequent inspections and services to keep the car in their rental fleet. These standards are usually greater than private owners maintenance.

When looking into buying a rental car take it to a mechanic to be inspected, for added peace of mind.

Get a CARFAX report to learn about that cars history.

Find out about the cars warranty, usually rental companies can transfer the warranty to you or provide an extended warranty (12 months/12,000 mile). They may also offer an extended test drive, allowing you to take the car home and only pay a restocking fee to return the car if you have had it less than a week and 1,000 miles.

Try companies like Budget, National, Thrifty, Avis, Enterprise or Hertz.
