Atals is a Greek god  who often waged war with his brother against the Olympians. He lost the war and as a punishment was made to hold up the sky, not the earth like in the common image of him holding the blood on his back. The original images shows him holding a celestial body. The idea of him holding the earth mainly comes from the use of his image on the geographical map books by Antonio Lafreri.
