Valentines day is one commercial holiday that can be stressful for couples and depressing for the single population. If you have a serious girlfriend I’m sure you have been getting hints about what she will like but if you have just started dating you may not know what to get. Here is a list of last minute gifts that are a little cliche and some ways to make them a little more personal.

Box of Chocolates- A standard box of chocolates from the grocery store is not going to score any points and may be the lamest gift. A great way to make this gift acceptable is to give it with another gift or make it personal. Go to a candy shop and pick out her favorite candy pieces and make a box of chocolate out of those.

Flowers- A box of chocolates and flowers may be classic but are not enough to please more girls. Many girls love flowers, but try finding her favorite type of flower or give her a flower with meaning. Look up on the internet the meaning of flowers and in the flower card right down why you chose that flower it will win you big points. 

Lingerie- If this is all you buy her you will probably be sleeping alone that night. Make sure you know her size information before even attempting this. One great way to be lingerie is to add something to it like a night at a special hotel. Put the lingerie and a little letter saying where you are going. 

Jewelry- Don’t get me wrong women love jewelry and it will probably get you brownie points but finding something classy this time of the year can be a challenge. Also she will be able to guess what it is instantly. Spice it up, hide the gift and make her find it or wrap it in a very discrete package. 

If you don’t know what to buy your girl, pay attention to what she looks at when you are at the mall or what she looks at online. Look through her closet and find out her sizes and what stores she shops at the most. Go to these stores and ask a sales rep to help you. With a little effort you can find the perfect gift.
