Some days you have no choice but to eat at a fast food resturant and surprisingly it is possible to make this a healthy option. There are a few tips and tricks to ordering healthy food when you visit fast food resturants.
Ask for your chicken, fish or turkey broiled, grilled or steamed instead of fried. Turkey, chicken and fish are often leaner then beef so they are better options.
Tell the cashier to hold the special sauces. They are usually calorie packed and full of fat.
Ask for a small or junior sized meal. If you are famished get a side salad to help fill you up.
Order a salad. The veggies are the healthy part, keep the bacon bits, cheese, sauces etc. light and avoid fried tortilla shells.
Instead of salad dressing get a small dessert. Surprisingly a small cookie has less calories then a lot of salad dressings.
Order unsweetened ice tea, skim milk or water. These are lower calorie options than sodas.
Look for fast food alternatives like sub shops, burritos, greek resturants, etc. These places can offer healthier options then the usual fries and burger.
Go to the grocery store and get some convenient food options like cottage cheese, packages of carrots and fruit.
